I made something for me!

I made what I will call a portfolio bag. I just made the pattern as I went. I found a quilted table runner at Marshall's last Friday night. It is from the "Carole Little Home Collection". She is similar to Rachel Ashwell to me - the Shabby Chic Queen! This table runner was marked down to $3.00. I snatched it quick! I knew just what I wanted to do with it!

I have been planning this bag for months. I just needed to find the right quilted fabric. I wanted to have a bag to take to work with me, that I could put a folder in, a book and some bills that I needed to pay (while at work). This works out great! I made the handle longer so it would hang a little lower. Jessie tried it on and put it crosswise across her chest. Looked cute that way too. It is so nice and light!

I added a beautiful rhinestone button on the front, but it closes with velcro. It has two pockets on the back (that I forgot to take a picture of). Just in case I want a place to put my cell phone.
The first picture is too dark. The colors of the bag are like the second picture. And I still have leftover fabric to make one more!

Hi, Cindy Lou! What a sweet bag! I love the fabric! I've had my eye on a couple of runners for making bags, but am waiting for them to go on sale.

I also think your auction items are so nice, and I'm sure they'll bring a nice price!

Thank you for visiting my blog! I live only about 3 hours south of you. Maybe there will be a blogger's convention that we can both attend. ;)

I'll be checking back to see what you're up to!

Cute bag- but let's be honestly Mother dear, you have way to much stuff to ever fit it into that bag- ha ha. But downsizing and changing purses are just some of those little things that are like meditation for women- I'm not sure if that is the right word for it, but I know you know what I mean.
